ANJL President meets with Minister of Justice to discuss regulated market in Brazil

The direction of the regulated market for bookmakers, initiatives to combat illegal sites and the impact of taxes on the gambling sector were in the Agenda of the meeting held on Tuesday 2 between the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Ricardo Lewandowski, the federal deputy Isnaldo Bulhões (AL), and the president of the National Association of Gaming and Lotteries (ANJL), Plínio Lemos Jorge.

For this reason, the president of the ANJL also spoke of his concern about the latest data presented by the Ministry of Justice on the vulnerability of young people to gambling.

“We highlight our concern about this survey on children and adolescents attracted by illegal gambling, which, as we know, does not offer any safety device and represents a serious risk for minors. We also talked about the initiatives being taken by the federal government to dismantle this organisation that operates in the country without authorisation and that, in addition to harming gamblers and authorised companies, prevents billions of reais in taxes from being collected”, explained Plínio.
